A quorum was present. The Chair, Co-Chair, and Secretary were in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm. The floor was turned over to Dr. Grandmont, who introduced the new Director of Student Services, Denise Rochlin. Two of the School Committee candidates were introduced for the candidates forum. The candidates, Allen Himmelberger and Susan Connolly each spoke briefly about their candidacy and answered questions from PAC members. Both are current members of the School Committee. Allen Himmelberger is running for a 1-year term and Susan Connolly is running for a three-year term. The Chair read an e-mail from Charlie Myers who is running for the third open School Committee position. The Chair turned the floor over to Dr. Denise Rochlin, Director of Student Services. Dr. Rochlin spoke about her background, what she has been doing in the month she has been here, and her future plans. The Chair passed out copies of proposed by-law changes. Five motions were made at the last meeting regarding the proposed by-law changes. Motion 1 - Strike section 4.5. This section limits terms of board members to three consecutive term. Motion 2 - Leave section 3.2 as written. This section defines voting membership as members who have attended a meeting in the last 12 months Motion 3 - Change the language of the bylaws to eliminate references to specific months of the year. Motion 4 - Change the language of section 6.1 to be amended to be in compliance with Massachusetts General Law. Motion 5 Accept the by-law changes. Motion 1 was discussed, voted on, and defeated. Motion 2 was discussed, voted on, and passed. Motion 3 was discussed and tabled until the next meeting. Motion 4 was discussed and tabled until the next meeting. Motion 5 was voted on and passed. The Chair presented the Treasurers report prepared by Carla Cataldo. The Chair presented the report of the Outreach Committee prepared by Carla Cataldo. David Scheffey made a motion to adjourn. The motion passed and the meeting was adjourned.
