Carla Cataldo made a motion to accept the minutes. The motion passed 6-0. The Chair, Matt McConville stated that tomorrow night, September 24th is the fourth Hang Out Night for kids from 10 to 14 with autistic spectrum disorders or other developmental delays. Hang Out Nights are held monthly at Christ Church. Police officers will be on hand to discuss what to do when kids get lost. Matt reported that he had discussions with Susan Connolly and Jennifer Doherty, the PAC liaisons to the school committee, in which he asked for $2,500 for the PAC budget. The Treasurer, Carla Cataldo, presented the proposed budget outlined below. Revenue $5 per Special Education child $2,500 In-Kind donations 500 ______ $3,000 Expenses Mailings $450 Hang Out Night 600 Dues and Membership 350 MASSPAC luncheon training 350 Special Olympics 1,000 _____ $2,950 Maureen Adamo made a motion to authorize the presentation of the proposed budget to the School Committee. The motion passed unanimously. Matt stated that a permanent subcommittee had been created to take part in program evaluations and audits. This subcommittee will review findings and make recommendations to the Director of Student Services. The Director will either incorporate these findings and recommendations into her own or put them in a file as a rebuttal. There was a brief statement from Alan LaVosh, an independent advocate, about the role of an advocate. He left information on his advocacy business. Kerry McElhiney expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of problems associated with minibus transportation for her son. A discussion of potential solutions followed. It was decided to continue the discussion after the adjournment of the meeting. Carla Cataldo made a motion to adjourn. The motion carried 6-0.
